The Clyde Malone Community Center will host its 40th Juneteenth Celebration on Saturday at Trago Park.

The event includes family-friendly activities — such as a kids zone, family fun walk, health fair, entertainment and a three-on-three basketball tournament — and all members of the community are welcome, said Kimberly Goins, the center’s executive director.

“This truly is a community event that brings together people from all walks of life to celebrate a major historical milestone,” Goins said in a statement. Juneteenth dates to 1865 and commemorates the end of slavery in the U.S.

The free event is from 1-5 p.m. at the park at 22nd and U streets.
