Lincoln’s three most recent mayors have all endorsed Megan Stock, who is running for the District 2 City Council seat in southeast Lincoln.

Mayors representing the last 20 years of Lincoln’s mayoral leadership, Don Wesely (1999–2003), Coleen Seng (2003–2007) and Chris Beutler (2007–present), have endorsed Stock.

All three are Democrats, as is Stock. Her opponent, Richard Meginnis, is a Republican.

Beutler said of his endorsement, “I’ve endorsed Megan Stock because I think she would be a real asset to the City Council. She brings the kind of energy, dedication, and forward-looking perspective we need to continue to build on Lincoln’s positive momentum.”

Wesely said, “I endorse Megan Stock for the City Council because I know she will prioritize the public interest over personal or partisan interests. We need more public officials who put the public first. Megan will do that with energy and integrity.”

Stock is also endorsed by the Lincoln Education Association PAC, Lincoln Central Labor Union, AFL-CIO, and the Lincoln Firefighters Local 644.
