Selah Muench, daughter of Brittainey and Josh Muench, is an eighth-grader at Lincoln Lutheran School. Selah was nominated for her hard work and positive attitude. She has been named to the honor roll and high honor roll throughout middle school. She plays saxophone in the school band and has been cast in Lincoln Lutheran’s drama productions for the past three years. Selah also plays volleyball for her school. In the community, she currently assists with collections for flood relief and helps deliver Meals on Wheels. She is active at Peace Lutheran Church. She loves to read, bake, camp, spend time outdoors, play board games and spend time with her family.
Kaitlyn Pagels, daughter of Renee Mai and Brian Pagels, is an eighth-grader at Cathedral of the Risen Christ School. Kaitlyn was nominated for her positive attitude and volunteer efforts at Mona’s House of Learning, an early education facility. She also volunteers as a peer helper and preschool aide. She has won several competitive cheerleading awards. In addition to cheerleading, Kaitlyn enjoys tumbling and spending time with her family. Her religious activities include Advocates of St. Angela. She has enjoyed her final year at Cathedral and looks forward to attending Lincoln Pius X High School in the fall.
Joshua Richardson, son of Connie and Matt Richardson, is an eighth-grader at Blessed Sacrament School. Joshua was nominated for his excellent academic record, being a peer leader, treating everyone politely and respectfully, having a great work ethic, being honest and showing great integrity. Joshua volunteers at Matt Talbot Kitchen & Outreach and was named Lincoln Elks Lodge Teen of the Year for 2019. In sports, he was named a Lincoln Youth Football All-Star, and he won the 2019 Knights of Columbus free-throw championship. Joshua plays baseball, basketball and football, and he enjoys archery and hunting. At church he is an altar server.
Catharina “Kit” Romero, daughter of Hilaire and Francisco Romero, is an eighth-grader at St. Teresa Catholic School. An honor roll student, Kit was a new student this year but fit right into her class. “She works well in any situation and always puts forth her best effort, no matter the situation,” school officials wrote. Kit volunteers with Catholic Foodnet and is a helpful sister to her seven siblings. She is a catcher for the Lincoln Rockets softball team, and she plays volleyball and runs track for St. Teresa School. She enjoys playing percussion and piano, singing in the St. Francis and junior high choirs, drawing, archery, and playing softball and soccer.
