Aubrey Bailey, daughter of Megan and Sean Bailey, is a seventh-grader at Scott Middle School. Aubrey was nominated for her dedication to learning, school officials wrote. She is an honor roll student who played intramural volleyball at Scott this year and attended volleyball camps at Nebraska One. At Sheridan Lutheran Church, she attends confirmation classes and volunteers as a youth leader in Vacation Bible School and Camp Up & Out. She has donated time to the Lincoln Food Bank BackPack program, volunteered at Barnabas Community and participated in the Down Syndrome Walk. She enjoys reading, art, running, Wyld Life Club, family and friends.

Blayke Bedient, daughter of Kama and Chris Bedient, is a seventh-grader at St. Michael School. “Blayke is confident and persistent in achieving her academic goals,” school officials wrote. “She is also the first to go out of her way to help others.” An honor roll student, Blayke received the Outstanding Student in Social Studies and 50-Plus Service Hours awards. She serves on Student Council, volunteers at school sports events and is a kindergarten reading buddy. She plays basketball and runs cross country for St. Michael and plays soccer for Villareal Nebraska Academy. At church, she is a reader at Mass and is involved in Campin’ with the Marians.

Mason King, son of Mary and Bill King, is an eighth-grader at St. Patrick School. He has been on honor roll throughout grades 6-8. “Mason has shown a lot of personal growth and maturity throughout his years in junior high,” school officials wrote. “He strives for high marks in his classes and is a reliable volunteer in the school, particularly when there are opportunities to help younger students.” He also has volunteered at Matt Talbot’s. Mason sings in St. Patrick’s choir and plays saxophone in the school band. He plays Junior Saltdogs baseball and is on St. Patrick’s basketball team. He is an altar server at St. Patrick student Masses.

Hailey Kobza, daughter of Deb and Rob Kobza, is an eighth-grader at St. Peter School. She was nominated for being helpful, having a good attitude and never complaining. An honor roll student, Hailey was a teacher assistant in the seventh grade. She plays basketball and runs cross country and track for St. Peter. She also plays club basketball and soccer. Hailey’s civic activities include volunteering to help sell fireworks to support St. Mary’s Church in Denton. Her religious activities include making and selling rosaries for a cause and serving as a lector at Mass on school days.
