27-year-old man killed in south Lincoln motorcycle accident

A 27-year-old Lincoln man was killed in a motorcycle accident at the intersection of 27th Street and Old Cheney Road on Saturday night, according to a Lincoln Police Department news release.

Police said Logan Langner was driving his Harley-Davidson north on 27th Street shortly after 9 p.m. when he lost control as he was approaching Old Cheney Road and was thrown from the motorcycle. Langner then hit a Toyota Camry driven by 32-year-old Yu Hiraoka, of Lincoln, in the intersection. Hiraoka, who had been southbound on 27th Street, had just begun turning left onto eastbound Old Cheney Road when the accident occurred.

Langner, who police say was wearing a helmet, was taken to the hospital and later died. Hiraoka was wearing a seat belt and wasn't injured.

Police said alcohol or drugs are not believed to be factors in the accident and no citations had been issued as of Sunday morning.
