Anson was a member of Nebraska Athletics' Spirit Squad, according to a university press release.

"We offer our deepest condolences to her friends, family and loved ones," a UNL spokesman said in a statement. "Our UNL community hurts today to know we have lost one of our own. It is our sincere hope at this difficult time that everyone will take care of and support one another."

University counselors have been meeting with Anson's friends and classmates. Others affected by her death are encouraged to call UNL's Counseling and Psychological Services at 402-472-7450.

Anson is the fifth person to die after falling or jumping from a downtown Lincoln parking garage in the past three years, according to news reports. One of those deaths was ruled an accident.
