A Seward County Sherriff's Office K-9 unit found around 3 lbs of crystal meth during a traffic stop on Interstate 80 Thursday morning.

Two men were arrested on Interstate 80 after crystal meth, mushrooms and drug paraphernalia were found in their car during a traffic stop Thursday morning.

Steven D. Kucharski, 48, of Las Vegas, and Michael J. Pierzykowski, 32, of Los Angeles, were arrested for possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia and no drug tax stamp, according to a Seward County Sheriff's Office news release.

The car was stopped by a Seward County Sheriff's Office K-9 unit around 11:30 a.m. for following too closely.

The vehicle was searched after probable cause was determined and deputies found approximately 3 pounds of meth, 24 grams of psilocybin mushrooms and drug paraphernalia, authorities said. The street value was estimated at $50,000.

Kucharski and Pierzykowski were both taken to the Seward County jail.
