Nearly 950 THC vape cartridges found in I-80 traffic stop

Nebraska State Patrol Troopers say they found nearly 950 THC vape cartridges, pictured here, in a traffic stop along Interstate 80 on Monday.

Nebraska State Patrol troopers arrested an Iowa man Monday after finding close to 1,000 THC vape cartridges during a traffic stop on Interstate 80 near North Platte.

John Norris, 22, of Johnston, Iowa, was taken to jail on suspicion of possession of THC/hash oil with intent to deliver and no drug tax stamp after the stop at about 10:50 a.m. Monday.

Patrol spokesman Cody Thomas said a trooper stopped Norris, heading east in a Ford Escape, for speeding, "became aware of drug activity and conducted a search of the vehicle."

The search revealed 947 THC vape cartridges in vacuum-sealed bags hidden inside a box in the cargo area.

Norris' passenger was cited and released for possession of marijuana less than 1 ounce.
