Two 15-year-old boys were caught after dropping rocks from an Interstate 80 bridge onto passing vehicles Sunday afternoon.

Lancaster County Sheriff Terry Wagner said a deputy went to the Arbor Road bridge after a Grand Island man reported his 2012 Chevy pickup was damaged at about 4:15 p.m. and found the teenagers running from the bridge east of the 27th Street exit. Wagner said that when the deputy caught them, they admitted they had thrown rocks from the bridge.

The Grand Island man who reported the crime ended up with about $500 in damage to his pickup’s hood and windshield wipers.

The boys were cited with criminal mischief and referred to the Lancaster County Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
