Two teenagers were arrested and taken to the Lancaster County juvenile detention center late Wednesday after a high-speed chase that began in downtown Lincoln and ended in Air Park, a Nebraska State Patrol spokesman said.
A trooper saw an eastbound Chevrolet Impala with no license plates speeding on West O Street and tried to stop the car just before midnight, Cody Thomas of the State Patrol said.
A chase began, and the car continued speeding through downtown Lincoln and ran multiple red lights as it headed north before turning west on Superior Street, Thomas said.
During this part of the chase, which also involved Lincoln police and Lancaster County sheriff's deputies, speeds reached 100 mph, he said.
As it entered Air Park, police used spike strips to stop the car near Northwest 42nd Street and West Rebecca Lane, Thomas said.
The front-seat passenger tried to run but was caught moments later, he added.
That passenger and the driver were taken to the juvenile detention center. A third boy was taken to his home and released to a parent.
The three boys were between 16 and 17 years old.
