A 40-year-old St. Paul man is set for sentencing in May on an attempted incest charge after pleading no contest.

Travis Fieldgrove is likely to get two years, the maximum penalty possible for a Class 4 felony, according to the plea agreement that includes a joint recommendation for the sentence.

Hall County Judge Mark Young will sentence him May 30.

In January, the Hall County Attorney's office charged Fieldgrove and his 21-year-old daughter, Samantha H. Kershner, with incest, alleging they had sex in September.

Kershner is set for trial in July.

Grand Island police began investigating them Sept. 18 after Kershner's mother alleged they were in an illegal relationship, according to an affidavit.

Contacted by investigators, Fieldgrove denied that he was Kershner's father. But DNA testing determined there was a 99.99 percent probability he was, according to Adams County court records.

They also both face incest charges in Hastings, where police say they married Oct. 1.

Both are being held at the Hall County jail.
