The Lancaster County Sheriff’s office said they recovered thousands of dollars worth of stolen property in a search Thursday afternoon southwest of Lincoln.

Sheriff Terry Wagner said investigators were alerted that there was stolen equipment at 1201 W. Pleasant Hill Road. He said they developed probable cause, got a search warrant and found a 2014 flatbed trailer that had been reported stolen, along with a skid loader, by TCW Concrete last month. They also found a yellow and black asphalt roller reported stolen from Contractors Inc. in October.

Together they had an estimated value of $44,000.

That night, deputies arrested 57-year-old Michael Combs, who lives there, on warrants related to a suspended driver's license. They also arrested Christopher D. Smith, 37, of 3145 Kleckner Court, who was booked on suspicion of theft by receiving stolen property and possession of a controlled substance.

Wagner said they are continuing to investigate to try to find the stolen skid loader.
