A masked burglar broke into The Mill Coffee and Tea's Haymarket shop early Thursday and stole cash from a bitcoin ATM, a police spokeswoman said.

Surveillance video showed the burglar enter the business after shattering a glass front door to the coffee house at Eighth and P streets just before 3:30 a.m., Officer Angela Sands said.

The burglar left with an undisclosed amount of cash, she said.

At the kiosk, which is owned and operated by Omaha-based Alpha BTC, users can buy bitcoin with cash or withdraw cash for bitcoin by scanning a QR code. The majority of people are buying bitcoin.
