Try 3 months for $3

A 33-year-old man was arrested after Lincoln police say he threw a cinder block at a Papa John's store window and demanded money from the register Wednesday night, a police department spokesman said.

Just after 7 p.m., police were called to the delivery pizza store at 621 N. 48th St. after a man broke the window and then held up a cardboard sign, reading "Give me everything in the register," Officer Luke Bonkiewicz said Thursday.

He didn't display any weapons but was holding a pair of drumsticks, police reported.

The employees didn't give him any money, and he left, Bonkiewicz said.

Officers found a man, identified as Joseph T. Peterson, walking in the area, and he matched the description of the suspect, he said.

Police found the drumsticks and the cardboard sign and took Peterson to jail on suspicion of misdemeanor criminal mischief and attempted robbery.
