A 30-year-old man shot in the chest following an argument at a north Lincoln mobile home court early Sunday will survive, Lincoln police said Monday.

Eric Daniels remained in critical-but-stable condition at Bryan West Campus, Sgt. Randy Clark said.

Police believe Oscar Okra, 30, got into an argument with Daniels about a woman inside a trailer at 2545 Theresa St.

Then Okra got a handgun and went outside, where police believe he shot Daniels once in the left side of his abdomen, police said in court documents. Daniels showed up at the police department's station at 27th and Holdrege streets and was taken to the hospital.

Officers later arrested Okra at the Days Inn hotel near Nebraska 2 and Calvert Street, police said.

Investigators found a spent .25-caliber shell casing near the trailer, and Okra had a .25-caliber handgun with him at the hotel, police said.

He remained at the Lancaster County jail on suspicion of first-degree assault and using a weapon to commit a felony.
