A 39-year-old Lincoln man threatened his wife with a gun early Thursday because she and a friend were talking too loudly while he tried to sleep, a police spokeswoman said.

Police were called to a home in the area of 33rd and Holdrege streets shortly after midnight, Officer Angela Sands said.

The couple's adult son and the friend ran from the home and called police.

The 36-year-old woman wasn't injured, and her husband, Wesley Sun, was arrested without further incident, Sands said.

A handgun was found in the attic of the home.

The 39-year-old Sun, who was previously convicted of felony sex crimes, was jailed on suspicion of possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, terroristic threats, use of a firearm to commit a felony, domestic assault and failure to register as a sex offender.
