Lincoln police are investigating a robbery Wednesday night of a 15-year-old boy who was trying to sell his Apple Watch.

Officer Angela Sands said the boy told police he advertised it for sale on his Snapchat story, got a response and agreed to meet the prospective buyer near 46th and Stockwell streets.

The man arrived in an Uber shortly before 6:30 p.m. and, in the backseat, handed the teenager cash that obviously was fake.

When the teen called him on it, Sands said, the buyer punched him in the face multiple times, took the watch and ran.

Police are working with Snapchat and the ride-sharing driver to develop a suspect.
