A burglar smashed a window to a first-floor apartment bedroom in the North Bottoms neighborhood Wednesday night and took cash and a wallet, according to Lincoln police.

Around 10:30 p.m., a 25-year-old woman was in her bedroom near Ninth and Claremont streets when she heard knocking on a window, Officer Angela Sands said.

Then she saw an arm break through the window, so she ran out of the room, and her roommate called police, Sands said.

When they returned to the room, they found that the wallet, which had cash in it, was gone, she said.

She didn't have a detailed description of the burglar for police.

Investigators encourage anyone with information to call police at 402-441-6000 or leave an anonymous tip with Lincoln Crimestoppers at 402-475-3600.
