Suspect in bar burglaries

Lincoln police are asking for the public's help in identifying this man who they suspect is involved in a dozen burglaries at bars across town.

Lincoln police on Monday asked for the public's help in identifying a man suspected in a dozen bar burglaries where gaming and vending machines were busted into.

Investigators believe the burglar pried open doors to bars around the city at night and broke into VVS Canteen machines to remove the cash box inside, Officer Angela Sands said.

The burglaries began in early September, and officers totaled the loss at more than $13,000, Sands said.

Damage to the bars is estimated to be much higher, she said.

Police department officials have warned bar owners about the trend.

Police encourage anyone with information to call 402-441-6000 or report it anonymously to Lincoln Crimestoppers at 402-475-3600.
