4 people killed in crash near Plattsmouth involving wrong-way driver, authorities say

Four people were killed in a crash near Plattsmouth Sunday night, the Cass County Sheriff's Office says.

It happened at about 9:45 p.m. on U.S. 75 between Plattsmouth and Beaver Lake when a van and a car collided head-on.

According to Sheriff William Brueggemann, the 2000 Dodge Caravan had turned onto U.S. 75 from First Avenue and was observed accelerating north in the southbound lane.

The Caravan then struck the 2013 Mustang head-on just south of Young Road, according to the sheriff.

All three occupants of the Caravan were killed on impact. They were identified as Walter Guy Minshall II, 57, of Omaha, who was the driver, and passengers Brenda Sue Minshall, 49, of Madison, and Constance Joann Gillott, 53, of Plattsmouth.

The driver of the Mustang, Taylor E. Grasewicz, 20, of Beaver Lake, was also killed, according to the Sheriff's Office.

Three others in the Mustang -- Anthony Scott Drake, 22, of Murdock; Dakota D. Keyser, 20, of Plattsmouth; and Scarlet Eve Stodola, 18, of Beaver Lake -- were taken to a hospital in Omaha for their injuries. Their conditions were not available.

Brueggemann said alcohol is being investigated as a factor in the crash.
