Lincoln police look into possible child abuse

  • 0

Police are investigating the cause of injuries -- including a fractured skull -- suffered by a 3-month-old girl last week.

The case is filed as a child abuse report, but no arrests have been made, Lincoln Police Officer Katie Flood said. The girl and a 4-year-old sibling have been removed from their home on Northwest 18th Street and placed into temporary protective custody.

According to a police report, a doctor discovered fractured ribs and a fractured skull during an examination of the girl. The infant was injured between May 3 and May 7, the report states.

Flood said police are conducting interviews to try to determine how the injuries were sustained.
