A 19-year-old man showed up at a Lincoln hospital Wednesday morning with a gunshot wound in his back, a police department spokeswoman said.

The man told investigators he was near 27th and W streets at about 4 a.m. when someone in a group of men he was acquainted with shot him, Officer Angela Sands said.

He crawled back to his car, drove himself home and had a friend drive him to the hospital around 5 a.m., Sands said.

His injury is not life-threatening, she said.
