Keenen G. Russell, 24, was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge John M. Gerrard and will be required to serve five years on supervised release and register as a sex offender after his sentence.
The Omaha office of the Department of Homeland Security received information in September 2016 from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding two tips from Twitter, Inc.
Twitter reported that a user identified as Russell posted numerous suspected images of child pornography in August 2016 before his account was suspended.
Russell posted 59 images, with 12 identified as child erotica and 27 as child pornography, as defined by federal law. A federal search warrant was served on Russell in November 2016 and an additional 346 images and 771 thumbnails of child pornography were found on an iPad.
