A 33-year-old Lincoln man has been arrested and accused of first-degree sexual assault of a child after a 15-year-old girl told a friend she was being abused earlier this month, according to court documents.

Prosecutors on Thursday filed the felony charge against Emmanuel Perez.

Lincoln police allege Perez forced the girl, whom he knows, to perform a sexual act on him several times, according to an affidavit for his arrest.

The abuse was reported to police Aug. 11.

Perez was arrested Monday evening and appeared in court Thursday afternoon.

The judge ordered him not to contact the girl or anyone younger than 18.

He remained in jail Thursday on $1 million bond.

If convicted, he faces 20 years to life in prison.
