Prosecutors on Friday charged a 26-year-old Lincoln man with three felonies after police say he sexually assaulted a 14-year-old girl several times since 2014.
Norberto Retana Barrera is accused of first-degree sexual assault of a minor, third-degree sexual assault of a child and intentional child abuse.
In late October, the girl, who knows Retana Barrera, told a school counselor that he had molested and assaulted her at least 10 times, a Lincoln police investigator said in court records.
Retana Barrera was arrested Thursday and taken to the Lancaster County jail, where he remained Tuesday on $750,000 bond.
A judge has appointed the Lancaster County Public Defender's Office to represent him.
If convicted, Retana Barrera faces up to 56 years in prison and lifetime parole supervision.
