Lancaster County Sheriff Terry Wagner said deputies found a 12-year-old girl in a robe and snow boots huddled in a ravine a half-mile from her house Wednesday morning.

The girl was taken to a Lincoln hospital for possible hypothermia. It was 28 degrees at the time.

Wagner said the girl had gotten into an argument with her sister and left her home near 170th Street and Pine Lake Road at about 5:45 a.m. Family members were searching for her and called 911 for help. Seven deputies responded, and two of them spotted tracks in the snow, followed them a half-mile and found her at about 8 a.m.
