A 20-year-old woman was found dead in a field near Crete on Saturday.

Ashley Sandoval, 20, who was last seen at Crete Inn on Friday evening, was reported missing by her mother Saturday morning, according to Crete Police Chief Steve Hensel.

Hensel said a Crete police officer was on the way to Crete Inn at about noon Saturday when the officer found Sandoval's body in a field just north of Nebraska 33.

Officers with the Saline County Sheriff's Office, Nebraska State Patrol and Crete Police are investigating Sandoval's death. Hensel said they have ruled out foul play.
