Burglary, break-in appear related, police say

  • 0

Police believe a Tuesday evening burglary and a nearby break-in are related.

A 22-year-old man told police he was at home in his apartment in the 200 block of South 30th Street about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday when a man kicked open the front door, looked inside and saw the resident.

The intruder yelled an expletive, turned around and ran, the man told police. The apartment resident briefly chased the intruder, and told police he saw three men flee the scene, said Lincoln Police Officer Katie Flood.

An hour later, a 28-year-old woman returned to her home in the 1000 block of South 30th Street to find a window screen had been cut open. Someone had gone inside and taken a Nintendo Wii and a vase holding about $30 change, Flood said.
