Lincoln police arrested an 18-year-old man, they believe threatened people with a gun in a bar parking lot Christmas Eve.

William Wade was arrested after a police chase through west Lincoln Saturday night.

Police received a call about 8:45 p.m. reporting a man was threatening people with a handgun in the parking lot of Playmakers Bar and Grill, 640 W. Prospector Court.

While en route, police saw a car matching the description of the suspect's car, a silver Chrysler 300, in the Southwest Eighth and West Garfield streets area, according to Capt. Bob Farber.

The vehicle took off and officers used stop sticks to deflate the tires, then followed the vehicle. The car stopped near West Denton Road and Southwest 126th Street, according to police reports.

Sometimes stop sticks are very effective. Sometimes they are not, said Farber. In this case they worked, he said, but the suspect kept driving.

The police have not been able to locate the victim and are asking anyone with information about what happened at Playmakers to contact them, Farber said.

Wade was arrested for possessing a stolen firearm, fleeing to avoid arrest and possession of a controlled substance.
