A 25-year-old Omaha man doing time for a killing there got sentenced Monday to three years more for punching a prison guard in the face.
Adrian Garcia pleaded no contest to assault on an officer in the third-degree.
Deputy Lancaster County Attorney Jeff Mathers said Garcia punched a guard at the Nebraska State Penitentiary on March 9, 2016. He said the guard had to be treated for the injury to his face.

At the time, Garcia was serving 36 to 61 years for the second-degree murder of Miguel Cervantes in 2009 and other charges.
Lancaster County District Judge Jodi Nelson sentenced Garcia on Monday for the assault.
