A Lincoln teenager is accused of hitting another teen with a foot-and-a-half long piece of wood because he was taking too long rolling a marijuana blunt.
Mario Rush, 17, 631 Bridger Road, was charged Wednesday with second-degree assault; he is being held at the Youth Detention Center.
According to court records, police went to BryanLGH Medical Center East on Monday afternoon on a report of a 15-year-old being treated for a head injury.
He told police there had been a disturbance between him and Rush at an apartment near 15th and C streets, when Rush picked up a piece of wood and threatened to hit him with it, then hit him with it as he turned to leave.
The 15-year-old was left with a 4.5 cm cut to the top of his head that required five stitches.
Rush turned himself in to police the next day and denied he'd used a board to hit him. Police say they now believe Rush hit the victim because he was taking too long to roll a marijuana blunt.
