Lincoln police are investigating a vandalism at U.S. Sen. Deb Fischer's Haymarket office, a police spokesman said Monday.

Staff reported to police the vandals wrote "Never trust a land thief with your well-being," "trickle down is a LIE" "#resist" and "'Tax Reform?' Class War" in chalk outside the office at 440. N. Eighth St., Sgt. Randy Clark said.

The vandals also scratched out the senator's name on the building directory and wrote a "nasty name" he wouldn't divulge, Clark said.

The U.S. Senate seal on the building's brick exterior was spray-painted over with red paint.

Investigators have no suspects in the case, which was reported shortly after 8 a.m.
