A man was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries Sunday evening after he lost control of his truck and struck a light pole near 45th and Vine streets.

The driver, who was heading westbound at the time of the crash, needed to be extricated from the vehicle by Lincoln Fire and Rescue and was transported to Bryan West Campus, according to Lincoln Police Capt. Todd Kocian.

The accident happened shortly after 4:30 p.m. as more snow and colder temperatures moved into the Lincoln area. Several other accidents were reported throughout the city at about the same time as roads became slick.
