The Oct. 24 Best Ball Fun Day at Pioneers Golf Course yielded some predictable results, and while the day remained overcast and cool, it couldn’t dampen the spirits of Lincoln Senior Men's Golf League members.
A total of 116 golfers were divided into three flights of four-man teams with 11 in A and 10 in B and C. As would be expected, this format puts a premium on higher handicap players utilizing the strokes they received, especially on more difficult holes.
In an unusual occurrence, a golfer’s clubs were misplaced, causing the staff to scramble and find them, canceling the placement of pin prizes. As a result, the clubhouse awarded those prizes to the highest scores in each flight. But those groups will not be cited as we endeavor to protect the identities of the innocent!
Watch for results of the final Fun Day, a Mixer event Oct. 31 at Holmes, in the Nov. 17 Neighborhood Extra.
