The Australian Shepherd Club of America national finals is a major event that hosts more than 1,000 dogs and will use the entire Fonner Park campus.
Isabella McKay, 13 months, pets her pit bull Max, age 13 years, as he gets acquainted with Wilson, a boxer mix, at the Tails 'n Trails Pet Walk & Festival fundraiser for the Capital Humane Society May 18 at Fallbrook Town Center in northwest Lincoln. The day included half- and full-mile walks, demonstrations by Nebraska Disc Dogs, live music by Levi William and by the PANgea drum band, FlyDogz specialty hot dogs, vendors, rescue groups, activities and games for dogs and their human friends, raffle items and a bounce house. The Ameritas Animal Lovers team won the corporate award for raising the most funds ($3,100) for the Capital Humane Society, and Lisa Tompkin won the individual award for raising $1,100.
