The Near South Neighborhood Association will sponsor a Man Caves and She Sheds Tour Saturday, June 16, from 3-7 p.m.
Enjoy a 1.5-mile walk or bike ride, or park and walk the full tour. The tour will feature spaces you may miss otherwise – behind-the-scenes and relaxing areas, alley art, and workshops where homeowners create and fix things. This is a tour of spaces where people enjoy themselves, create and fix things, with a few hidden and public places along the way.
The gender stereotypes are just for fun on this tour – everyone can enjoy this:
Man caves – basements turned into fun areas for games, TV and entertainment areas, workshops, garages and more.
She sheds – potting sheds, relaxation spaces, sitting areas, etc.
Walk-bys – alley art, three parks in the Near South and beautiful homes along the way.
These are the locations on display this year:
1900 B St. – unique large outdoor entertainment space;
1937 F St. – carriage house workshop, garage, potting room “she shed”;
2128 B St. – basement entertainment area;
1954 A St. – beautiful, unique yard; and
1844 Washington St. – garage workshop, large solar panels.
