With Rodizio Grill pulsating to the sounds of the ‘80s, the Nebraska Cancer Research Center (NCRC) kicked off its first Banding Together for Hope event April 27.

Thanks to sponsors Advanced Medical Imaging, Bryan Health, Family Health & Wellness Center PC, Lincoln Radiology Group, Nebraska Hematology Oncology PC, Nebraska Pulmonary Specialties, Pathology Medical Services, Southeast Nebraska Cancer Center, Urology PC and generous donors, over $4,000 was raised to advance the work of Nebraska Cancer Research Center. NCRC partners with Lincoln oncology groups and hospital systems to provide patients local access to cutting-edge National Cancer Institute-sponsored clinical trials.

Music was provided by AM/FM Lincoln throughout the evening while guests danced, bid on raffle items and reconnected with friends, old and new.

“We are very appreciative of the generosity of Rodizio Grill in providing us a wonderful venue in which to raise awareness of NCRC’s work,” said Kelly Madcharo, director of the Nebraska Cancer Research Center. “We are also very grateful for the local businesses who donated items for our raffle and those who attended tonight’s event.”

NCRC has approximately 30 clinical trials available for cancer patients at any one time for all types of cancer. Over the past 34 years, more than 3,000 cancer patients have paid it forward by enrolling in a clinical trial or patient registry to advance cancer treatment.
