The Parks and Recreation Department announced Oct. 1 that the free fitness programs that started in May will continue through the end of the year.
• Yoga classes are offered at noon Wednesdays at the Jayne Snyder Trails Center, 228 N. 21st St., through Dec. 12.
• Zumba dance classes are offered at 5:30 p.m. Thursdays at the F Street Community Center, 1225 F St., through Dec. 27 (no class on Nov. 2.)
No preregistration is required. Participants should wear appropriate clothing for yoga or dance activities and bring a towel or mat for yoga class.
“Our free programming allows the public to continue to stay active in our park spaces even when cooler weather sets in,” said Melissa Lindeman, program coordinator. “If the programs have good attendance, we plan on continuing both programs into the 2019 season.”
