Do you desire security and comfort while living a lifestyle where it’s all about YOU?
Amenities such as great food, entertainment, friends nearby, professional care and the privacy of your own apartment can be found at Lincoln’s brand-new retirement community: Fallbrook Assisted Living & Memory Care.
“Homey” is a description that Virginia Cole, the community’s executive director, likes to use in describing the personalized, stress-free lifestyle. “We work hard to make sure it looks and feels like home, because it is the new home for our seniors,” she says.
The Fallbrook retirement community, comprising 54 assisted-living apartments on two levels and 17 memory-care apartments on one level, opened Feb. 4 with the welcoming of its first residents. “In addition, we have nearly thirty individuals that we’re currently working with,” said Cole.
Cole, a 26-year veteran of the senior care industry, said assisted-living residents have a choice of four floor plans, ranging from the 450-square-foot studio layout to a two-bedroom, two-bath apartment plan with 1,050 square feet. Residents of the memory-care complex, named Providence Place, have a choice of two suite sizes. The retirement community in Northwest Lincoln is licensed to handle a capacity of 131 residents.
For those in assisted living whose care level may change during their stay, the community offers six levels of individualized services for an added fee. “If you reside in our assisted-living community and your needs change, we strive to help you age in place here at Fallbrook,” said Cole.
The retirement property is located at 6600 Juliet Court and spans nearly four acres. It is behind Super Saver and a half-mile from the Fallbrook community’s main business district. Cole said independent-living Villas, while not part of the current complex, are in the community’s near future. The new retirement community is the first Lincoln location for its owner, MJ Senior Housing, a Fremont, Nebraska-based company with over 20 years’ experience.
One monthly fee covers virtually all amenities including three nutritious meals per day and snacks, an 18-seat movie theater, a coffee shop, a chapel, an exercise room with daily workout sessions, weekly housekeeping, a personal safety pendant for 24-hour assistance, cable TV, wireless internet and all utilities except phone.
There’s also a breathtaking view that overlooks the city’s skyline and the nearby airport.
At full capacity, the retirement community will employ about 75 workers.
The retirement community’s proximity to the many features of Fallbrook is a big asset. “The businesses and services located throughout Fallbrook have been very welcoming,” said Cole. “We look forward to broadening those relationships as our community expands.”
Intergenerational interactions have been planned with the nearby Kooser Elementary School, said Cole, and meetings have been held with the Fallbrook YMCA branch to get the retirement community involved there.
“From senior fitness classes to card groups, the Y has many attractions that should appeal to our residents,” said Cole. “We look forward to a great reciprocal relationship with them.”
Round-trip transportation will be provided to the Fallbrook Y, as well as to other activities throughout Fallbrook and beyond. The retirement community also plans to partner with the Fallbrook Kiwanis Club to join in some of its activities.
There are dental, vision and health services in nearby Fallbrook. Transportation will be provided for convenience and ease of access. Health at Home will also provide nurse practitioners on-site at Fallbrook Assisted Living & Memory Care for those who may find it difficult to go out for an appointment.
“At Fallbrook Assisted Living and Memory Care, it really is all about you,” said Cole.
