Truman L. Burton, 87, Lincoln passed away May 11, 2019. Born August 31, 1931 in Bartley to Lyman and Hazel (Johnson) Burton. U.S. Army veteran. Truman was a graduate of Curtis High School, received his bachelor's degree from Kearney State College and his master's from University of Wyoming in Laramie and doctorate from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He was a school teacher, principal and administrator all over the country. The last 20 years he was director of secondary education in the North Kansas City School District until his retirement.

Family members include his wife Sherry; sons Michael (Debbie) Burton, San Diego, Calif. and Stephen Burton, Kansas City, Mo.; daughter Robin (Mark) Von hausen, Kansas City, Mo.; grandchildren Jennifer (Beau) Rothnell and William Von hausen; brothers Carlyle Burton and Dyle (Beverly) Burton; several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, brothers Richard and Wesley, sister Lolita.
