Clarice June (Rapp) Hesser, 84, of Lincoln, died Tuesday (3-26-13). Born 8-26-28) in rural Adams to Clarence and Ester (Fritz) Rapp. Graduate, Adams High School 1946. She taught school at Mt. Pleasant country school for two years. On May 18, 1948, Clarice was united in marriage to Melvin J. Hesser. They farmed near Adams for 35 years before moving to Lincoln. Clarice was a member of the Adams Jr. Women's Club and secretary treasurer for the Adams Cemetery board. She served many roles in the Adams Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by husband, Melvin J.; daughter, Peggy (Dale) Nelson; son, Jerry (Carole) Hesser, all of Lincoln; grandchildren, Rachelle (Jim) Hall, Palmyra, Kyle Hesser, Omaha, Kevin (Jamie) Hesser, Sioux Falls, S.D.; step grandchildren, Teri Jo (Terry) Trice, Dallas, Shelly (Gary) LaFreniere, Kearney; nine great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; sister, Margery Hibbert, Wood River; sister-in-law, Jean Rapp, Adams; and many more relatives and friends. Preceded in death by parents; sister, Marilyn Rapp; brother, Donald Rapp; brother-in-law, Jack Hibbert.
Memorial service: 10 am Saturday (3-30) Roper and Sons Chapel, 4300 'O' St. Rev. Lila Bottolfsen officiating. Burial: 12:15 pm at Highland Cemetery, Adams.
