Loretta Marie (Dechant) Giltner 90, of Lincoln, went to be with the angels on January 30, 2017, to Heaven above. Born in Bazine, Kan., on July 18, 1926, to Anton and Susanna Dechant. She met and married the love of her life Jack F. Giltner in January 1948, and was with him until his death. During their marriage, they had five children: John, Thomas, Theresa, Marianne and Suzanne. Although her main role in life was a mother, she wore many hats, including grandmother, great-grandmother, mother and beloved friend.

She worked at various jobs throughout her life, including Lincoln Public Schools, House of Bauer and Bishops Buffet. Her kind heart and loving attitude toward people is something that will never be forgotten. Her love of her Catholic faith and church was a very important thing to her whole life and even until her death.

Loretta is survived by her sister, Lucille Preisser; brother, Alex Dechant; children John Giltner, Thomas (Audrey) Giltner, Theresa Eisenberg, Marianne Giltner, Suzanne (Allen) Massa; 13 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends. Preceded in death by spouse, parents, brothers and sisters and grandson, Casey.

Visitation will be from 12-9 p.m.,Thursday and from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Friday. Rosary will be 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, February 4, at Saint John Catholic Church, 76th & Vine Sts. Burial will follow at Lincoln Memorial Cemetery. Father Lyle Johnson officiating. Memorials to the Pink Sisters Adoration Convent. Online Condolences can be left at Butherus, Maser & Love Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements.
