Dr. Robert Bob Bruce Synhorst

Bob was born and raised in Grand Island. He attended and graduated from Hastings College prior to graduating from the University Nebraska School of Medicine in 1955.

Bob was married to Jeane Carey Synhorst in May of 1955 and moved to Dallas, Texas where Bob completed his Surgical Internship at Baylor University. Bob then enlisted in the Air Force and completed his 2 year service as a Captain. His Residency in Urology took Bob and Jeane to the University of Iowa.

Once completed, he and Jeane moved to Lincoln, where Bob joined the private practice of Urology PC. His career of 32 years included adjunct teaching at the University Of Nebraska School Of Medicine and multiple hospital affiliation throughout central Nebraska.

Throughout the 63 years of marriage to his bride Jeane, they raised 2 children, Paul (Lincoln) and Lynn (Denver). In 2005 Bob and Jeane moved to Corta Bella, Ariz., meeting many new friends, enjoying golf and warm climate for 11 years.

In 2016, Bob and Jeane returned to Lincoln, moving into The Landing. Together, through the many years Bob and Jeane enjoyed traveling throughout the world, as well as staying at home and gardening or entertaining family and friends.

Bob passed Monday morning peacefully in his sleep with Jeane at his side. Dr. Robert Synhorst Lincoln; husband of Jeane Synhorst; father of Paul C.(Dr. Lori) and Lynn E (Mark); grandfather of Andrew (Michaela) Synhorst, Dr. David (Abby) Synhorst; great grandfather of Connor & Caroline Synhorst, Joseph & Daniel Synhorst, brother-in-law to Dr. Bee (Larry) Gatliff, niece Wendy (Dwight) Becker, nephew Michael (Katie) Gatliff.

Service at 1 p.m., Friday, October 26, Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home 6800 S 14th Street. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to CEDARS Home for Children or Food Bank of Lincoln Inc. lincolnfh.com
