Dorothy Stransky, of Lincoln, passed away on December 4, 2018, at the Tabitha Journey House in Lincoln at the age of 95. She was born Dorothy Vrchota in the Cedar Bluffs area on February 27, 1923. She came to be raised at St Thomas Orphanage with several siblings. She worked for Bishop Louis B. Kucera and later at Golds department store. She married Ervin Joseph Stransky in 1945. They raised a son, Jerry, and a daughter, JoAnn, and had many happy years together. Dorothy was a long-time member of St Teresa's church.

Dorothy was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She was an accordion player, artist, dog lover and three-time Lucky Day Calendar winner. She loved white chocolate, banana shakes, ice cream, her pets, but most of all her family. Dorothy faced many challenges in her long life but she was always kind, gentle, giving and loving. She possessed a great inner strength and was unfailingly positive. She was an inspiration to her family and friends throughout her life.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband; Ervin Stransky, her brothers: Elmer and Tony Vrchota, and her sisters: Rose Dudek and Evelyn, Violet and Betty Jean Vrchota. Dorothy is survived by her son and daughter-in-law; Jerry and Vitalia Stransky of Thornton, Colo.; daughter and son-in-law; JoAnn Stransky and Gene Davis of Lincoln, granddaughter and husband; Carmen and Andrew Kassatly of Brighton, Colo., granddaughter by marriage; Rose Lucero and her partner Luke of Lafayette, Colo., great-grandchildren: Jordan Gardner and her husband Charles, Bryson, Madyn and Ireland Kassatly; Ciera and September Ellingsworth, great-great-grandchildren: Jozah and Gabriella Gardner and Cyrus Cortes, and childhood friend; Sylvia Knowlton.

Visitation: 9-9, with family 5-7 pm Friday at Butherus, Maser & Love funeral home. Service will be at 10:30 am Saturday, 12-8, at Butherus Maser & Love Funeral Home. Memorials to KZUM 89.3 Radio “No Name Polka Show”. Condolences can be left at www.bmlfh.com
