Donald L. Baugous, 89, of Lincoln, peacefully returned to his Lord and Savior on January 3, 2019, after a short battle with cancer. Born February 11, 1929, in Mapleton, Iowa, to Richard and Madge (Heikes) Baugous. Don worked in the title insurance business for over 35 years and “retired” to the mortgage loan department at Union Bank for another decade. He was an active member of St Mark's UMC and loved to sing in choirs and quartets. Don kept busy playing card games with family, friends and his sister, but only when he wasn't volunteering at VanDorn Villa, St Mark's, and Bryan Hospital. Family members include his wife of 64 years, Wilma (Dorman); sons Craig (Nancy) and David (Carol); daughter-in-law Sue; sister Vanesta Gray; grandchildren Madeline Baugous, Caleb Baugous, Jennifer (Justin) Batty, Jon (Kelly) Baugous; step-grandchildren Mark Mellen and Rachel Mellen; and four great-grandchildren Fallon Baugous, Jolie Baugous, Mason Miller and Jada Cash. Preceded in death by his parents; son Alan; and four siblings. Memorial service: 11 a.m. Saturday, 1/12, at St. Mark's United Methodist Church, 8550 Pioneers Blvd., Lincoln. No visitation.
