Ann Therese LaVon Yockey Rothwell, 100, formerly of Hyannis, passed away Monday, May 13, 2019. Born in Arcadia to Edith (Lind) and Harvey Yockey, she married Lt. Robert L. Rothwell 273 in Sacramento, Calif. Ann, a city girl from Grand Island, and graduate of UNL, made her life on the ranch and raised five children.
She enjoyed teaching, volunteering, and membership in the order of Eastern Star and United Church of Christ. Ann and Bob retired from the ranch in 1985 and moved to Lincoln. NU football and volleyball were always a passion. They traveled many times with groups from the Sesostris Shrine.
Ann is preceded in death by son George A. and husband Robert L. She is survived by sons: Robert G. (Barb) Rothwell, Beatrice; John (Tammy) Rothwell, Hyannis; Rick Rothwell, Lincoln, daughter Lynne (Steve) Cady, Eskridge Kan. Grandchildren: Clay Rothwell, Virginia Bauers, Mitch Cady and Lane Cady.
Graveside service: 11 a.m. MST, May 28, at Hyannis Cemetery, with lunch reception following at the United Church of Christ. Memorials in lieu of flowers: Hyannis Fire & Rescue or Shriners Hospital for Children, 2900 N. Rocky Pointe Drive, Tampa, FL 33607.
