The Mourning Hope Grief Center will break ground on constructing its first permanent facility Thursday, May 16, at 1311 S. Folsom St. The event will take place from 4-5:30 p.m. with remarks at 4:30 p.m. by Mayor Chris Beutler; Carly Woythaler-Runestad, Mourning Hope executive director; Doug Ganz, capital campaign co-chair; Jason McCown, president of Mourning Hope's board of directors; and Pam Dinneen, founder of Mourning Hope.
Thanks to generous early support from lead campaign donors, Mourning Hope has raised more than 75% of its $4 million goal and can begin the building process four months earlier than previously planned. The public is invited to this groundbreaking ceremony. The ceremonial digging will include children in hard hats with shovels.
