Support local access to cutting-edge research by attending the fifth annual “Colors of Hope: Cancer Research Fundraiser” benefiting the Nebraska Cancer Research Center.
This year’s benefit, brought to you by Southeast Nebraska Cancer Center, is set for Aug. 23 at the Country Club of Lincoln with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. The $65-per-person event includes a plated dinner, cash bar, silent and live auctions and a dessert auction. Live auction items include a football autographed by Scott Frost; a New Orleans three-night Jazz and Dining Experience with airfare, accommodations and skip-the-line admission to the Preservation Hall of Jazz plus dining for two at Commander’s Palace; a three-night stay at the Fairmont Chateau in Lake Louise, Alberta, along with round-trip airfare; and a Sonoma Wine and Dine vacation featuring a private Jesse Katz wine tasting for two in downtown Healdsburg.
The fundraiser will benefit Nebraska Cancer Research Center (NCRC), a program of Lincoln Medical Education Partnership (LMEP). NCRC partners with both Lincoln oncology clinics and both hospital systems to provide patients access to cutting-edge cancer treatments. This allows patients to receive many of the same treatments available at renowned cancer treatment centers here at home, surrounded by their support network. NCRC has enrolled over 3,000 patients and volunteers in clinical trials since its inception in 1984.
Tickets are available at www.necancerresearch.org. For those unable to attend, donations may also be made online or by calling the NCRC office at 402-483-2827.
“Advances in cancer treatment are the direct result of clinical trials," said Kelly Madcharo, director of NCRC. "By participating in a clinical trial, patients pave the way for new treatment options and bring us closer to finding a cure. Funds raised will enable us to continue to provide patients early access to promising new treatments here locally.”
Southeast Nebraska Cancer Center is the title sponsor for the event. Gold sponsors include Bryan Health and Nebraska Hematology Oncology PC.
