To raise funds to financially serve kids in need around our community, Capital City Kiwanis will host its 29th annual soup supper and silent auction from 4:30-7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, at Capitol City Christian Church, 78th and Holdrege streets.
Four kinds of soup will be served along with relish, dessert and a drink. Tickets are available now through Capital City Kiwanis members. They are $8 per adult and $5 per child (12 and under) and can be purchased at the door.
The silent auction will have a wide range of items like tickets to local events, handmade crafts, baskets of goodies and gift cards to bid on.
Attendees are asked to use the church's northwest door, which will be marked with a blue-and-white Kiwanis flag.
As always with Kiwanis events, 100 percent of the proceeds are used for projects and programs that help Lincoln kids.
In addition to providing many volunteer service hours to the community, Capital City Kiwanis provides financial support to student-led leadership clubs in our local schools (like K-Kids Club, Builders Club, Key Clubs), a scholarship program, the Lincoln Food Bank BackPack program, Sewing for Babies and other organizations that care for kids like City Impact, Friendship Home and the Stork Club.
