Kye Halsted

Kye Halsted with her paper mosaic painting of a crane. Halsted collaborated with Julia Noyes to explore this combination of painting and mosaic, using a favorite theme.

On Third Friday, April 19, “The Cranes” will be landing at Noyes Art Gallery, 119 S. Ninth St. Organized by Kye Halsted, 10 Noyes artists will show work exploring themes of birds and flight. For Halsted, the crane is a consistent presence in both her origami and mosaic work.

Other artists in the show are Jeri Kuhn (quilling), Ramona Fink (painted furniture and jewelry), Ruth Langen (paintings), Doug Hoevet (sculpture), Julia Noyes (paintings), Sandy Carpenter (ceramics), Rob Borzekofski (pastel drawings), Nicki Nix (jewelry) and Larry Allder (sculpture).

In addition to the cranes show, Union College oil painting students will display their work for one night in Noyes’ Gold Room.

Teresa Kay Orr will perform live music as guests browse the art. Weather permitting, Bobbie Fye and LynnAnn Scharf will offer patrons rides in a 1924 Depot Hack (Model T), originally restored by Don Jeffries in 1999.
